#11 Notre Dame @ #6 Alabama – 4:15pm ET
This game is just as interesting on the basketball court as it would be on the football field. As these two football powerhouses prepare to meet in the first round of the NCAA tournament. It was a thrilling double overtime victory for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the first four over Rutgers and ironically it was the Irish who were celebrating as the game ended after the clock struck midnight on Saint Patrick’s Day.

My first pick for this game is the Notre Dame big man Paul Atkinson as he was a menace in the win over Rutgers on Wednesday. In this game I look for Atkinson to put up more big numbers as he tries to lead the Irish to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in seven years. Atkinson was the main reason the Irish survived the other night and I think he will take over in this one to get Notre Dame another win.
As for my second pick I’m going with Notre Dame sharpshooter Cormac Ryan. Much like Atkinson Ryan was huge down the stretch for the Fighting Irish and made some clutch shots when it counted the most. I look for him to repeat that same performance in this second round game against Alabama. It wouldn’t surprise me if he ended up being the leading scorer for Notre Dame in this one. I look for both these seniors to step up and lead the Irish to a huge NCAA tournament victory.
March Madness Parlay Pick: Atkinson & Ryan over Points
#11 Virginia Tech @ #6 Texas – 4:30pm ET
Virginia Tech shocked the world when they ran the gauntlet in the ACC Conference tournament and beat Notre Dame, North Carolina, and Duke in three straight days to cap off a four wins in four days run. Now they will look to keep their hot streak going in this 11 vs 6 matchup against the Texas Longhorns. Texas finished the year with a record of 21-11 and earned an at-large bid in the tournament. Now they will be looking to make a deep run in this year’s field.

My first pick for this game is the total points going over the over/under line. As both of these teams can shoot the lights out when they want too. I expect this game to be one of the highest scoring games of the entire first round as well. This one could easily end up ending with a score of around 85-80 or something along those lines. Regardless of who comes out on top in this one, they are going to have to score a lot of points to get the job done and advance to the second round on Sunday.
My second pick for this game is a Virginia Tech win as I believe the Hokies are the hottest team in the nation at the moment. After pulling off that incredible performance to win the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament they now come into the NCAA tournament riding a wave of momentum. I think Virginia Tech could easily be a Sweet Sixteen or even an Elite Eight team.
But as I said before I think they will have to score a lot of points to get the job done. So their offense will have to play one of their best games of the season if they want to find a way to win this game.

#15 CSU Fullerton @ #2 Duke – 7:10pm ET
California State University of Fullerton is looking to pull off the impossible in this one as they will try to knock off the Duke Blue Devils. Doing so would end the legendary career of coach K. It would also give the Blue Devils another haunting memory of an early exit in the Big Dance once again. As for Duke they will look to win one last national championship for their iconic head coach and the road starts with a win in this game.

My first pick in this one is for the Duke freshman Paolo Banchero. He has been nearly unstoppable this season and he is one of the main reasons why Duke has a great shot at winning a national championship this season. He is likely going to be the Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman Of The Year award winner as he will likely edge out Notre Dame Freshman Blake Wesley. I am expecting another big game from Paolo in this one as I have him going over his points total to lead Duke to a win.
My second pick for this game is a Duke Blue Devils win as I look for Duke to win this one easily and advance on to Sunday’s round two. I have Duke in the elite eight in an eventual rematch with a Gonzaga team that they have already beaten earlier this season. Duke should have no problem in this one as they are clearly the more talented team on paper and on the court as well. As I think the combination of Banchero, Wendell Moore and Trevor Keels will do enough to give Duke a comfortable victory in this first round matchup.

#10 Davidson @ #7 Michigan State – 9:40pm ET
This one has an upset alert written all over it as the 10th seeded Davidson Wildcats will play the 7th seeded Michigan State Spartans. This Big Ten vs Atlantic-10 Conference matchup is going to be a good one as we are wrapping up the second day of the first round of this 2022 NCAA tournament. Davidson comes into this game with a record of 27-6 while Michigan State is 22-12 on the year.

My first pick for this game is for the Davidson Wildcats to go over their total points a as team. Davidson can score the basketball at wikl when they get hot and this is one of those games where I expect them to get hot super fast en route to an upset win over Tom Izzo and the Spartans. Davidson could easily drop between 70-80 in this one in my opinion as I think the Spartans will have a tough time stopping them.
My second pick for this game is a Davidson Wildcats victory. As I previously mentioned this game has upset written all over it and that is exactly what I expect to happen. I think Davidson will outmatch Izzo and his Spartans en route to an NCAA tournament victory and a place in the second round. I still look for this to be a close game for the majority of it but in the end I think the Wildcats will pull away from the Spartans to finish off the win.

#14 Colgate @ #3 Wisconsin – 9:50pm ET
The 14th seeded Colgate will play the 3rd seeded Wisconsin in this game that could potentially add to the pile of upsets already. Colgate are the champions of the Patriot League. They blew out the Naval Academy in the finals to get an automatic bid in this year’s NCAA tournament. The Wisconsin Badgers finished the season with a record of 24-7 on the year and now will look to start their run towards capturing a national championship.

My first pick for this is for the game’s total points to go over its set line. As I look for a back and forth shootout between these two teams. I could see the final scoring being somewhere in the low or high 70s when the final second comes off the clock. Both of these teams scored in waves during the regular season now they will play each other in this one for a trip the second round of the NCAA tournament on Sunday,
My second pick for this is a Wisconsin Badgers victory as I look for them to take this one. However, I do look for the Patriot League champions to keep it interesting and close and force the Badgers into some last minute heroics. Both of these teams have the potential to make a sweet sixteen run or beyond so it is sad to know that one of them will be eliminated in this game. However, I have the game going over and the Wisconsin Badgers winning this one as well.
