My first pick for this game is for the Florida Gators and Oregon State Beavers to combine to go over their total points in this game on Saturday afternoon. This should be a decently high scoring game between two teams that put up a respectable amount of points per game during the regular season. The Florida Gators averaged around 31 and a half points per game during the 2022-23 college football season while the Oregon State Beavers averaged around 32 and a half points per game.
My second pick for this game is for the fourteenth ranked Oregon State Beavers to grab the win over the Florida Gators in this game on Saturday afternoon. This should be a compelling back and forth game but in the end I think the difference will be the fact that the Gators won’t have Anthony Richardson at quarterback, as well as several other opt outs. As the likely first round pick is opting out to prepare for the 2022 National Football League draft.

Washington State @ Fresno State – 3:30PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the Washington State Cougars and Fresno State Bulldogs to combine to go over their total points in this game on Saturday afternoon. Both of these teams were scoring at a high rate throughout the season. However, their defenses were also suspect as well, which creates the perfect formula for a high scoring shootout type of game. The Washington State Cougars averaged around 27 and a half points per game during the 2022-23 college football season while the Fresno State Bulldogs averaged around 30 and a half points per game.
My second pick for this game is for the Washington State Cougars to pick up the victory over their fellow west coast school the Fresno State Bulldogs in the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl. This should be a solid back and forth game but in the end I have to give the edge to the PAC-12 Cougars. As I think they will pull off the upset after the emotional week the program has had after the passing of former coach Mike Leach.

Rice @ Southern Miss – 5:45PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the Rice Owls and Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles to combine to go over their total points in this game on Saturday evening. They both come into this one evenly matched on the offensive side of the ball as they both average points per game in the mid 20s. While the Rice defense gives up an average of 30 plus a game which will likely be the difference in scoring. The Rice Owls averaged around 25 and a half points per game during the 2022-23 college football season while the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles averaged around 24 and a half points per game.
My second pick for this game is for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles to grab the win over the Rice Owls. In some ways this is an old conference rivalry renewed as just a couple years ago both of these teams belonged to conference USA before Southern Miss left for the Sun Belt prior to the 2022-23 college football season. Rice ended the year on a three game losing streak and I think that negative momentum will carry over into this game as well.

SMU @ BYU – 7:30PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the Southern Methodist Mustangs and Brigham Young Cougars to combine to go over their total points in this game on Saturday evening. This should be a decently high scoring game between two teams that put up a respectable amount of points per game during the regular season. The BYU Cougars averaged around 31 and a half points per game during the 2022-23 college football season while the SMU Mustangs averaged around 38 and a half points per game.
My second pick for this game is for the BYU Cougars to pick up the win over the SMU Mustangs in this one. This is likely going to be the best bowl game of the weekend as these two future power five conference members get set to square off. Both of these teams feature high powered entertaining offenses that are both going to put on a show in this one. Whichever team ends up with the ball last is going to get the win and I think it’ll end up being the Cougars of BYU.

North Texas @ Boise State – 9:15PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the North Texas Mean Green and Boise State Broncos to combine to go over their total points in this game on Saturday evening. Both of these teams have some high powered offenses that have crossed the thirty point threshold on multiple occasions this season and I expect it again in this one. The North Texas Mean Green averaged around 33 and a half points per game during the 2022-23 college football season while the Boise State Broncos averaged around 29 and a half points per game.
My second pick for this game is for the Boise State Broncos to pick up the victory over the North Texas Mean Green. I look for this one to be a good old fashioned shootout and those types of games tend to favor this Boise State team in the past. I could easily see this game ending with a combined score that’s in the triple digits when the clock finally hits zero or the final overtime is played. In the end I think it’ll be the Broncos that come out on top of the Frisco Bowl.
