My first pick for this game is for Notre Dame quarterback, Sam Hartman. This will be his first start for the Fighting Irish after transferring in from Wake Forest over the off-season. He is regarded as a top 10 quarterback in college football, and he will be looking to make an instant impact with his new school in the opening game of the season here on Saturday afternoon. That is exactly what I expect as I look for Sam Hartman to eclipse his total passing yards mark in the opening game of this season against Navy in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday afternoon. This game will be a good game for Hartman to get his Notre Dame career underway against a Navy team that should have trouble keeping up with the speed of Notre Dame wide receivers.
My second pick for this game is for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to pick up the victory in the opening game of this season against Navy on Saturday afternoon. This is a yearly game between these two universities, and it is a series that Notre Dame has often dominated throughout the years. I expect this to be a similar outcome here on Saturday afternoon as the Irish have high hopes this season, and they will have their sights set on making a college football playoff appearance at the end of the regular season as well. I don’t look for Notre Dame to allow the Naval Academy to stop those plans as I look for the Irish to get a comfortable victory here in this one on Saturday to open up the year in Ireland.

San Jose State @ #6 USC – 8PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the reigning and defending Heisman Trophy award winner, Caleb Williams. He had a fantastic season last year during his first stint with the USC Trojans after coming over from Oklahoma with head coach, Lincoln Riley. He will be looking to follow up on that incredible campaign with a hot start here in this year’s season against San Jose State on Saturday night. I expect him to do just that as I look for Caleb Williams to have an incredible game and go over his total passing touchdowns to open up the season at home as USC looks to grab a statement victory in the opening weekend of the season.
My second pick for this game is for the USC Trojans to pick up the victory in the opening game of the season against the San Jose State Spartans on Saturday night at the Los Angeles Coliseum. USC had a solid finish the last season but they came just short of making the college football playoff after a pair of losses to the Utah Utes knocked them out during conference championship weekend. I expect USC to grab a comfortable victory in the opening game of the season here against San Jose State, as I look for the top ten Trojans to cover the spread in a blowout win, led by an incredible performance from quarterback Caleb Williams.
