While the Reds have been playing decent baseball as of late, they will have to go up against Alek Manoah in this one and they will likely have some trouble. The Blue Jays got the win in the first game of this series as it was a low scoring affair that ended 2-1. I expect this one to be another low scoring game, at least for the Reds and I look for Manoah to shut them down.

My second pick for this game is for the Pittsburgh Pirates to grab the win over the St.Louis Cardinals on Saturday. Now while this choice may be surprising to some, the Pirates are sending a veteran in Quintana to the mound while the Cardinals are sending a guy who will be making his first career Major League Baseball start. That is why I look for the Pittsburgh Pirates to grab a much needed victory in this one against the Cardinals.

My first pick for this game is for the Houston Astros starting pitcher, Justin Verlander. My second pick for this game is for the Houston Astros to grab the win over the Texas Rangers on Saturday. This will be game three of this four game weekend series as both teams have won one game a piece heading into the third one on Saturday. With Verlander on the mound it gives the Astros a huge advantage in my opinion. In Verlander’s first start against the Texas Rangers this season he went seven innings and gave up one run on four hits en route to a victory. He also added eight strikeouts as well and I expect more of the same in this one.

This will be his second start against the Oakland Athletics as his last start also came against Oakland. On May 14th he went seven innings and gave up one run on five hits en route to a victory. I have the Los Angeles Angels and Lorenzen both grabbing a win in this one.
