My first pick for this game is the Houston Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez. He is the ace of this staff after the departure of Justin Verlander over the off-season. However, unfortunately he hasn’t been performing like an ace despite the decent start to the season for the Houston Astros. He comes into this game with a record of 3-4 on the year and an Earned Run Average of 2.84. As it might be fair to say that the offensive production has been lacking when he is on the mound for Houston. However, Oakland provides the perfect opportunity for him to turn it around and I think he will do just that this game. I have him going over his total outs here on Sunday afternoon.
My second pick for this game is for the Houston Astros to pick up the victory over the Oakland Athletics here on Sunday afternoon to close out this weekend series. The defending World Series champions had a rough start to the year, but they have been heating up as of late while Oakland has been one of the worst teams in baseball this season. The Houston Astros have already picked up the first two victories in this series and now they will look to complete the sweep here on Sunday against Oakland. I don’t look for them to have much of a problem with the Athletics in this one with Valdez on the mound as I look for the Houston Astros to pick up a comfortable victory here on Sunday afternoon at home.

Miami Marlins @ San Francisco Giants – 4:05PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the Miami Marlins, Luis Arraez. He has been one of the best young players in baseball over the last couple of seasons, and he is really blossoming into his own during his first season with the Miami Marlins. Despite the success of Pablo Lopez in Minnesota, many people are still scratching their heads as to why the Minnesota Twins would trade away their best hitter for a starting pitcher. It might be fair to say that the deal has panned out well for both teams but at the moment it has helped the Marlins more than the Twins because of Arraez’s production. I expect him to have another productive day at the plate in this game on Sunday afternoon and for him to go over his total hits against the Giants.
My second pick for this game is for the Miami Marlins to pick up the victory over the San Francisco Giants in the finale of their three-game series here on Sunday afternoon in the Bay Area. The Miami Marlins, arguably have the advantage in the pitching matchup in this one as José Luzardo will go against Alex Wood to close out this series. The series is currently tied at one game of peace after the Marlins picked up the victory on Saturday and they will have the momentum coming into Sunday’s finale as they look to take two out of three games from San Francisco. This game will also serve as the regular season finale and the winner of this one will get the tiebreaker if it comes up during playoff seeding. I expect the Marlins to get a solid victory in this one over San Francisco on Sunday.

Minnesota Twins @ Los Angeles Angels – 4:07PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Pablo Lopez. He has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season, and although his record might not reflect that when he is on the mound the Minnesota Twins look like an unbeatable team. He comes into this game looking to pick up his third victory of the season, and the task will not be easy going against the Los Angeles Angels, especially with Shohei Ohtani, opposite of him in the pitching matchup. He will be looking to lower his Earned Run Average wage currently sits even at four heading into the start as well. I expect him to go deep into this ballgame and go over his total outs here on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.
My second pick for this game is for the Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani. He has been one of the best players in baseball for the last few years, and potentially is one of the greatest players ever because of the amazing things that he can do on the field. The last time he started a game on the mound he nearly hit for the cycle at the plate, which is absolutely unheard of and likely will never be done or come close to being done again unless he pulls it off. It’s been a Cy Young caliber season for Ohtani on the mound as he looks to pick up his sixth victory of the year in this start. I expect him to go deep into this ball game as well and go over his total outs here on Sunday afternoon at home.

Boston Red Sox @ San Diego Padres – 4:10PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Corey Kluber. He is off to an absolutely horrid start this season and he looks nowhere close to how he looks during his two Cy Young award winning campaigns. The prime of his career has certainly come and gone but when he is on his “A game”, he still has a lot to give to a franchise. However, that just isn’t the case right now, as it comes into this one with a record of 2-5 on the season and an Earned Run Average well over six at the moment. I don’t expect to get much better for him and this start either as I look for him to go under his total outs here on Sunday afternoon against the Padres.
My second pick for this game is for the San Diego Padres starting pitcher Michael Wacha. He is off to an incredible start this season and it’s nearly the polar opposite of the way Corey Kluber has performed this year. Wacha comes into this game with a record of four and one on the season as he will be looking to pick up his fifth victory of the year. As the San Diego adres look to close out this series with the Red Sox or the victory on Sunday afternoon. I expect Michael Wacha to have a quality start in this one and go over his total outs here on Sunday afternoon at Petco Park.

Cleveland Guardians @ New York Mets – 7:10PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the Cleveland Guardians starting pitcher Shane Bieber. He comes into this game, looking to help the Guardians pick up the victory over New York and get their season turned around after a rough start to the year. Bieber himself has had a rough start to the season as well, and he desperately needs a quality start to get things turned around this year. He comes into this game with a record of 3-2 on the season and an Earned Run Average of 3.20 at the moment. He will be looking to pick up his fourth victory of the season in this game on Sunday night. I expect him to go deep into this ballgame and go over his total outs.
My second pick for this game is for the Cleveland Guardians to pick up the victory over the New York Mets in the third and final game of this three game series on Sunday night. This will also be the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday after their game was rained out on Saturday afternoon. The Cleveland guardians had Game number one of this series won before the New York Mets walked it off in the bottom of the ninth after another blown save by Clase. He leads all of Major League Baseball in Saves and Blown Saves this season as well. However, I look for the Guardians to bounce back and win the final game of the series here on Sunday night baseball.
