Los Angeles Clippers @ Cleveland Cavaliers – 7pm ET

Both of these teams have very different expectations coming into this season. As many people expected the Los Angeles Clippers to be competitive and compete for an NBA championship as a top team in the league. Meanwhile, many people expected the Cleveland Cavaliers to be towards the bottom of the standings and end up in the draft lottery again. However, while the Los Angeles Clippers have been decent they are nowhere near as good as they should be and the Cleveland Cavaliers are blowing everyone away with their performance so far this season. 

My first pick for this game is Darius Garland. As the All-Star Guard has been one of the main reasons behind the Cavaliers success so far this season. Garland can light up the scoreboard night in and night out with his great scoring and passing abilities. With the Cavs having been bit by the injury bug as of late Garland will be needed more than ever to get this team into the playoffs. This is why I expect Garland to have another big showing in this one as the Cavs are one game ahead of the Raptors for 6th place in the Eastern Conference. 

My second pick for this game is a Cleveland Cavaliers victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. Cleveland may just have the most difficult schedule in the league to finish out the season and despite the Clippers lack of success this game is no exception. However, the Cavaliers have been good at home this year and I think it will factor into the result of this game, which is why I have the Cleveland Cavaliers getting the victory in this game. I’m taking the Moneyline for the Cavs and Garland to go over his points total.

Denver Nuggets @ Philadelphia 76ers – 7:30pm ET

This may very well be the best game of the Monday night slate as two of the top teams in the National Basketball Association will face off. As the Denver Nuggets travel East to play the Philadelphia 76ers in the city of brotherly love. The Denver Nuggets come into this game with a record of 40-28 on the season as they currently sit towards the top of the Western Conference standings with 14 games left in the season. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers come into this one with a record of 41-25 and sitting towards the top of the Eastern Conference.

My first pick for this game is the reigning most valuable player award winner Nicola Jokic. As Jokić is looking for his second straight Most Valuable Player award this season. He will also look to become the second straight player to win back-to-back Most Valuable Player awards. Jokic has been a force all season long as he has put up near triple-double numbers and has the Nuggets playing well. This is why I expect another big performance out of him in this highly anticipated matchup between him and Joel Embiid. 

My second pick for this one is the previously mentioned Joel Embiid as he has also been putting up Most Valuable Player award-winning types of numbers as well this season. With James Harden usually not showing up when the lights are the brightest I look for Embiid to put up another big game as he tries to get the Philadelphia 76ers the victory over the Nuggets and improve his Most Valuable Player winning case. I’m taking Embiid and Jokic to both go over their points total in this game.

Washington Wizards @ Golden State Warriors – 10pm ET

The Washington Wizards season hasn’t gone like they would have wanted it to go. But if the core of the franchise can remain healthy and they can add a few more pieces they will start tending in the right direction. As for the Golden State Warriors, they are just days away from getting Draymond Green back and things could not be any better as they will look to add a fourth title to their already incredible dynasty over the last 8 years. This game could get very ugly, very quickly when these teams take the court on Monday night in the Bay Area. 

My first pick for this one is Stephen Curry, as I look for the greatest three-point shooter of all time to put up another great performance from behind the arc. Curry has already broken the all-time three-point record this season and with each passing game, he continues to distance himself from the rest of the pack. I expect Curry to carry the Golden State Warriors in this one and keep them rolling towards the NBA playoffs as they look to add another ring to their collection and truly cement their legacies. 

My second pick for this game is a Golden State Warriors victory over the Washington Wizards. As on paper and the court, the Wizards are greatly outmatched in this game and will need a lot of help from guys like Kyle Kuzma if they want to have a chance to get the win. However, I just can’t see it happening unless somehow Curry and Klay Thompson went completely ice cold from the floor. This is why this is my safe bet of the evening. As I think the Warriors are going to blow out the Wizards at home.

Milwaukee Bucks @ Utah Jazz – 10pm ET

This is another game on the Monday night slate that should be a very competitive game. As two more top teams in the National Basketball Association are set to face off. As the defending champions, the Milwaukee Bucks head to Salt Lake City to take on the Utah Jazz. This will be a great game featuring some of the best players in the league like the former Most Valuable Player award winner Giannis Antetokounmpo and Rudy Gobert. This is certainly one that should go right down to the wire and potentially even go to overtime. 

My first pick for this game is the former Most Valuable Player award winner Giannis Antetokounmpo. As I expect the Greek Freak to put up big numbers against one of the best defensive players in the National Basketball Association, Rudy Gobert. Giannis has been the key part of all the Bucks success over the last few seasons as he looks to lead them to back-to-back NBA championships. I’m expecting Giannis to go over his combined Points total in this game as he tries to get the Bucks a big win on the road on the West Coast. 

My second pick for this game is a Milwaukee Bucks victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday evening. I think the Bucks are a hard team to beat at the moment. I am taking the Bucks Moneyline in this one and not the spread because I think this is a game that will come down to the final possessions. While the matchup between Giannis and Gobert is about even, I think the Bucks have the better supporting cast this year and I think it will play into the outcoming of this game.

Toronto Raptors @ Los Angeles Lakers – 10:30pm ET

The Toronto Raptors are putting together a decent season and could be a potential dark horse for a deep playoff run. Led by Fred Van Vleet the Raptors are coming into this game with a record of 37-30 through their first 67 games of the season. They are currently in seventh place in the Eastern Conference but they are only one game out of getting away from the play-in round. As for the Los Angeles Lakers, nothing seems to be going right as they were blown out by the league-leading Suns on Sunday evening. They will be playing the second game of a back-to-back in this one.  

My first pick for this game is Lebron James. Despite the Lakers struggles as of late Lebron has turned into a monster down the stretch as he looks to carry Los Angeles into the playoffs or at least safely into the play-in round. This is why I expect more of the same in this game even as the Lakers are coming off a game on Sunday evening, as I can’t see Lebron resting when they need a valuable win. He has put up 30 plus with ease recently which makes him a safe bet in every game for the remainder of the season. 

My second pick for this game is the Toronto Raptors all-star point guard Fred Van Vleet as I look for Van Vleet to put up another big game in this one. Van Vleet has put up great numbers all season long and I see no reason why he won’t do it again in yet another big game for the Raptors. This is why I’m taking the former Wichita State Shockers star to go over his total points in this game as I think he will have no problem dropping an easy twenty points.
