My first pick for this game is for the Philadelphia 76ers big man and Most Valuable Player award candidate Joel Embiid. Embiid put on a show in game one of this series, scoring 19 points and snagging 15 rebounds in a 131-111 victory. I look for Embiid to put up some more big numbers in game two as the 76ers look to take a 2-0 lead to Toronto with a chance at a four game sweep. In my opinion Embiid isn’t going to win the NBA Most Valuable Player award but if he keeps this level of play up, an NBA Finals MVP is certainly on the table.

My second pick for this game is for Tyrese Maxey. After his incredible game one performance where he seemed absolutely unstoppable on the court, scoring 38 points, I look for him to follow it up in this one. Since James Harden came to town Maxey has become a great player and has absolutely flourished when he’s on the court. That is why I am expecting Maxey to have another big time performance in game two of this first round series.

Utah Jazz @ Dallas Mavericks – 8:30pm ET
My first pick for this game is for the Utah Jazz point guard Donovan Mitchell. In game one of this series Mitchell put up an impressive 32 points to help lead the Utah Jazz to a 99-93 win in Dallas. Now Mitchell and the Jazz will look to grab a 2-0 lead and head back home. As they will look to take advantage of the fact that Luka Doncic will be out for this one again. Mitchell is an electric player and when he is hot there aren’t many people in the National Basketball Association that are better

My second pick for this game is for a Utah Jazz victory over the Dallas Mavericks in game two of this first round Western Conference series. Without Luka Doncic the Dallas Mavericks are a completely different team and it showed in game one. If he is out for any longer than this second game then I think it will be fair to say that the door is closed for Dallas this season. I think Utah is going to grind out another big win on the road in big D and head back to Salt Lake City with a sweep on their mind.

Denver Nuggets @ Golden State Warriors – 10pm ET
My first pick for this game is for the Golden State Warriors to go over their total team points in this second round game. The Warriors offense can kill you in an instant. Once they get on a run there is no stopping them. They put up an impressive amount of points in their game one victory over the Denver Nuggets. As they scored 123 points which was the third highest on the day and the third highest of all the game one games in the first round. I expect them to repeat this as they try and take a 2-0 lead over the Denver Nuggets.

My second pick for this game is for a Golden State Warriors victory over the Denver Nuggets on Monday in game number two. Even with Nikola Jokic scoring 25 in game one the Warriors were difficult to overcome. They are a franchise that has consistently won big games over the last 7 years and it doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon either. That is why I think they will grab themselves another big win in this game to go up two games to none heading to Denver for games three and four.
