My first pick for this game is Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks. The former Oklahoma Sooner is the Hawks franchise cornerstone piece but he will need some help if he wants to turn this team into champions. I think Young is going to put up big numbers against a Golden State Warriors team that has struggled a bit lately without their superstar Steph Curry in the lineup. Young is one of the youngest superstars in the National Basketball Association and it’s only a matter of time before awards start piling up in his trophy case.
My second pick for this game is Klay Thompson. The other splash brother has shown flashes of brilliance since coming back from injuries that took away nearly two years of his career. He will be looking to get back in the swing of things before the NBA playoffs start in a few weeks. That is why I look for him to have a decent game in this one as he tries to carry the Golden State Warriors to a much needed victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

Dallas Mavericks @ Minnesota Timberwolves – 8pm ET
This is going to be the best game of the Friday evening slate. As the Dallas Mavericks face off with the Minnesota Timberwolves in a huge Western Conference matchup with playoff seeding implications. The Dallas Mavericks come into this game with a record of 45-28 through their first 73 games of the season, which has them in 5th place. While the Minnesota Timberwolves have a record of 42-32 through their first 74 games which puts them in 7th place in a play-in spot, 1 game behind the Nuggets for the six seed.

My first pick for this game is this year’s potential Most Valuable Player award winner Luka Doncic. Luka has been carrying the Dallas Mavericks all season long and I expect more of the same in this huge matchup against Karl Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves. He is putting up nearly a triple-double on average this season and he is only going to get better as the year’s go on. I am expecting another big performance from Luka Doncic in this all important Western Conference clash.
My second pick for this game is the previously mentioned Karl Anthony Towns. The winner of this year’s three point shootout has become perhaps the best shooting big man in the history of the National Basketball Association. He is a threat from anywhere on the court and that is why I look for him to come up big in this one. As I expect this game to be a shootout between Karl Anthony Towns and Luka Doncic on Friday night in Minnesota.

New York Knicks @ Miami Heat – 8pm ET
It’s been a rough season for the New York Knicks this year. It won’t get any better in this one as they are taking on the top team in the Eastern Conference. They come into this game with a record of 31-42 on the season, which puts them in 11th place in the Eastern Conference. The Miami Heat have been having a fantastic year as they are the best team in the Eastern Conference with a record of 47-26 through their first 73 games of the season.

My first pick for this game is for Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler. Since coming into the league Butler has always been a defensive force but his offensive game has made leaps and bounds as well. As he has turned into perhaps the second most dominant two way guy in the league behind Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard. That is why I am picking Butler to have a night on this one on the defensive end as I look for him to go over his combined blocks and steals.
My second pick for this game is a Miami Heat victory over the New York Knicks on Friday night in South Beach. On paper and on the court the Heat are just the more talented team and I expect that to reflect itself on the scoreboard in this one. Miami is on the brink of locking up the number one seed in the Eastern Conference so I don’t see them taking their foot off the gas at all in this game against the New York Knicks.

Houston Rockets @ Portland Trail Blazers – 10pm ET
This is a battle between two of the most disappointing teams in the Western Conference this season. As the Houston Rockets travel north to play the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night. Houston comes into this one with a record of 18-55 which has them dead last in the conference. Portland comes into this game with a record of 27-45 as they are 3.5 games out of the final playoff spot with ten left to play. Both of these teams are going to miss the playoffs this season.

My first pick for this game is for the total points to go over its set line. Both of these teams don’t like to play much defense which is a scorer’s dream. That is why i’m expecting the total points to be around the 200 mark when the final buzzer sounds at the end of the night. This definitely feels like one of these games where both teams will go into triple digits before it’s all said and done. As both of them really have nothing left to play for this season.
My second pick for this game is a Houston Rockets victory. Despite being the worst team in the National Basketball Association this season Houston has a much brighter future than Portland in my opinion. Especially after the CJ McCollum trade that sent him to New Orleans and broke up the dynamic duo of CJ and Dame Lillard. With guys like Christian Wood and Kevin Porter Jr. the Houston Rockets should have no problem getting the victory in this game.

Philadelphia 76ers @ Los Angeles Clippers – 10:30pm ET
This should be a good one as the Philadelphia 76ers face off with the Los Angeles Clippers in this Eastern Conference vs Western Conference showdown. In a normal year this matchup would be insane as it would feature James Harden and Joel Embiid vs Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. But the Clippers have been without their two superstars for the majority of the regular season and they will likely miss the playoffs as well as the Clippers fight for a play-in spot in the Western Conference.

My first pick for this game is James Harden, as the superstar shooting guard has been lighting it up since coming to the city of brotherly love. I look for Harden to have another monster game as he looks to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a huge road win over the Los Angeles Clippers in this game. My second pick for this game is a Philadelphia 76ers victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, as I believe Joel Embiid and James Harden will be too much for the Clippers to handle in this game.
