My first pick for this game is for Oral Roberts and the Duke Blue Devils to combine to go over their total points in their first round matchup in the NCAA tournament on Thursday evening. Oral Roberts is one of the best rebounding teams in the country and they are solid on the offensive glass which leads to a lot of second chance scoring opportunities. They also average about 85 points per game on the season and will likely need to score every bit of that if they want to upset the Duke Blue Devils here in round number one. Duke score is a ton of points as well as they come into this game averaging around 72 and a half points per game. This one should be a high scoring back and forth affair.
My second pick for this game is for the fifth seeded Duke Blue Devils to pick up the victory over twelfth seeded Oral Roberts in this first round matchup. Duke has been the hottest team in the country over the past couple of weeks as they stormed their way to an Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament championship. Not many people could’ve seen it coming after Jon Scheyer and the Blue Devils started the season off slowly. However, they came on very strong, and I expect them to pull out a very close win over a competitive Oral Roberts team to open up the NCAA tournament and send themselves through into the weekend and the second round.

#15 Colgate @ #2 Texas – 7:25pm ET
My first pick for this game is for Colgate and the Texas Longhorns to combine to go over their total points in their first round matchup in the NCAA tournament on Thursday evening. Both Colgate and Texas have scored a lot of points this season in this one crazily turn into a back-and-forth track meet here on Thursday evening. Colgate comes into this game averaging around 78 and a half points per game on the season. Meanwhile, the Texas Longhorns come into this one averaging around 78 points per game on the season. This one could end up being a high scoring matchup between two solid teams.
My second pick for this game is for the second seeded Texas Longhorns to pick up the victory over fifteenth seeded Colgate in this first round matchup. Realistically, despite the strength of Colgate this season Texas has been on another level. While casual fans would love to see this one remain close I just can’t see that being the case as I think the Texas Longhorns will easily take care of business in advance to Saturday’s second round matchup. At least for the first handful of rounds. I can’t see anybody beating the Texas Longhorns as I think they will find their way into the final four at worst.

#10 Penn State @ #7 Texas A&M – 9:55pm ET
My first pick for this game is for the Penn State Nittany Lions and Texas A&M Aggies to combine to go over their total points in their first round matchup in the NCAA tournament on Thursday evening. This is the first matchup of this year’s NCAA Tournament that will feature a couple of power five schools facing off and it should be a high scoring competitive affair. Penn State comes into this game averaging around 72 and a half points per game on the season. Meanwhile, Texas A&M comes into this one averaging around 73 and a half points per game on the season.
My second pick for this game is for the tenth seeded Penn State Nittany Lions to pick up the victory over the seventh seeded Texas A&M Aggies in this first round matchup. This is my first upset pick. of the tournament, if you can even call it an upset as it features two very evenly matched teams from two of the best conferences and all of college basketball. Penn State has been playing well and they used a successful run through the Big Ten tournament to get themselves into this position. Although they came up short in the finals, they did enough to secure an at-large bid and I think they will use that to their advantage and pick up the victory over Texas A&M here in the first round.

Friday March 17th
#11 Providence @ #6 Kentucky – 7:10pm ET
My first pick for this game is for the Providence Friars and Kentucky Wildcats to combine to go over their total points in their first round matchup in the NCAA tournament on Thursday evening. Providence has been involved in some high scoring games this season and with the talent Kentucky has they are always capable of scoring tons of points. Providence comes into this game averaging around 78 and a half points per game on the season. Meanwhile, Kentucky comes into this one averaging around 75 and a half points per game on the season.
My second pick for this game is for the eleventh seeded Providence Friars to pick up the victory over the sixth seeded Kentucky Wildcats in this first round matchup. This is another game that you could potentially call an upset, but I honestly would not consider it one as Providence has been solid all season long and this simply isn’t the same Kentucky team. We’re always used to seeing. The biggest has been super competitive this season, and I think that will help Providence in this one, as they look to secure the “upset” over a blue blood and advance to the second round. I expect them to do that, as I look for them to shock big blue nation and give Kentucky hearts another heartbreak.

#13 Kent State @ #4 Indiana – 9:55pm ET
My first pick for this game is for the Kent State Golden Flashes and the Indiana Hoosiers to combine to go over their total points in their first round matchup in the NCAA tournament on Thursday evening. Both of these teams can score at a high pace and that is exactly what I expect out of this game. Kent State comes into this game averaging around 76 and a half points per game on the season. Meanwhile, Indiana comes into this one averaging around 75 points per game on the season.
My second pick for this game is for the thirteenth seeded Kent State Golden Flashes to pick up the upset victory over the fourth seeded Indiana Hoosiers in this first round matchup. This game right here is my real upset for round number one as people have absolutely no reason to sleep on Kent State. This is a very solid Kent State team out of the Mid-American Conference and personally I have them going to the Sweet 16 this season. Indiana has been very up-and-down this year and I think that’s what will come back to cost them in this one as I look for the Golden Flashes to send the Hoosiers packing in round one.
