My first pick for this game is for the UConn Huskies and the San Diego State Aztecs to combine to go over their total points in this game on Saturday evening. San Diego State has played incredible defense throughout the first five rounds of this tournament but they are facing an elite offensive team in this one. San Diego State is just going to have to keep up with UConn’s scoring if they want to become national champions and win this game on Monday evening. As I look for this wanna be a back-and-forth competitive contest, that features a ton of points before the final buzzer sounds on the season.
My second pick for this game is for the fifth seeded San Diego State Aztecs to pick up the victory against the fourth seeded UConn Huskies in this National Championship Game matchup on Monday evening. This has been one of the most incredible tournaments of all time, and these two teams have made unexpected runs all the way to the national championship game. UConn is looking for a similar finish to their 2014 national title run that saw them get hot when the tournament started and run through everybody. They have won every game by double digits thus far but this is the toughest defense they will face all tournament long. Meanwhile, San Diego State has shocked everybody along the way to make it to the national championship game and is arguably a team that was very under seeded coming into the tournament. But in the end, I think the Aztecs win their first national championship in program history after their shocking buzzer beater in the final four against the Florida Atlantic Owls that got them here.
