My first pick for this game is for the Arkansas Razorbacks and the UConn Huskies to combine to go over their total points in this game on Thursday evening. Both of these teams have already put up some high scoring numbers throughout their first two tournament games and I look for more of the same in the third. Arkansas has averaged 72 and a half points in two games and UConn has averaged 78 and a half points during their first two games of the 2023 NCAA tournament.
My second pick for this game is for the fourth seeded UConn Huskies to pick up the victory and cover the spread against the eighth seeded Arkansas Razorbacks in this Sweet Sixteen matchup on Thursday evening. Connecticut beat a very solid Saint Marys team to get here and now they are on the verge of an elite eight berth. They have looked like one of the better teams in the entire tournament and I expect their momentum to continue rolling in this one as I think they will dispatch of the Arkansas Razorbacks here on Thursday night.

#9 FAU @ #4 Tennessee – 9pm ET
My first pick for this game is for the Florida Atlantic Owls Razorbacks and the Tennessee Volunteers to combine to go over their total points in this game on Thursday evening. Both of these teams have already put up some high scoring numbers throughout their first two tournament games and I look for more of the same in the third. Florida Atlantic has averaged 72 points in two games and Tennessee has averaged 61 and a half points during their first two games of the 2023 NCAA tournament. However, if Tennessee wants to win this game, they will have to score a lot more than that so I think they will step up to the plate and do just that to try and match Florida Atlantic bucket for bucket.
My second pick for this game is for the ninth seeded Florida Atlantic Owls to end the solid run of the fourth seeded Tennessee Volunteers and advance to the Sweet Sixteen. When Tennessee obliterated Duke in the second round everyone had them pegged as a potential national champion after everyone had counted them out after injury piled up for them. However, I think the Volunteers’ run will end in this game as Florida Atlantic’s offense has looked nearly unstoppable throughout their first two games in the tournament. I look for this one to turn into a track meet and at the end of the day I just can’t see Tennessee keeping up with Florida Atlantic by the time the final buzzer sounds.

#3 Gonzaga @ #2 UCLA – 9:45pm ET
My first pick for this game is for the Gonzaga Bulldogs and the UCLA Bruins to combine to go over their total points in this game on Thursday evening. This is likely going to be the highest scoring game of the Thursday, slate of games and potentially the entire sweet 16. Both of these teams have electric offenses and you can absolutely expect this one to turn into a back and forth track meet before it’s all said and done. Both of these teams have averaged well over 70 points per game this season and I can easily see this one reaching well past that by the time the final buzzer sounds.
My second pick for this game is for the third seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs to pick up the victory and cover the spread against the second seeded UCLA Bruins in this Sweet Sixteen matchup on Thursday evening. A lot of people doubted Gonzaga coming into the tournament, but throughout their first couple of games they have looked unbeatable as Drew Timme has easily looked like one of the best players in the country. They beat Grand Canyon and TCU by an average of 7 1/2 points per game and I expect them to grab a victory over UCLA as well to advance to the elite eight on Saturday evening.

Friday March 24th
#5 San Diego State @ #1 Alabama – 6:30pm ET
My first pick for this game is for the San Diego State Aztecs and the Alabama Crimson Tide to combine to go over their total points in this game on Thursday evening. Both of these teams have already put up some high scoring numbers throughout their first two tournament games and I look for more of the same in the third. San Diego Statehas averaged 69 points in two games and Alabama has averaged 84 and a half points during their first two games of the 2023 NCAA tournament.
My second pick for this game is for the first seeded Alabama Crimson Tide to pick up the victory in this Sweet Sixteen matchup against the fifth seeded San Diego State Aztecs. Both of these teams looked decent in their first and second round victories respectively. However, the number one overall seated Crimson Tide have looked to be on a different level. I can’t see them losing this one either as I think they will cruise into the elite eight with another solid victory over San Diego State in this game on Friday night.

#3 Xavier @ #2 Texas – 9:45pm ET
My first pick for this game is for the Xavier Musketeers and the Texas Longhorns to combine to go over their total points in this game on Thursday evening. Both of these teams have already put up some high scoring numbers throughout their first two tournament games and I look for more of the same in the third. Texas has averaged 76 points in two games and Xavier has averaged 78 points during their first two games of the 2023 NCAA tournament.
My second pick for this game is for the third seeded Xavier Musketeers to upset the second seeded Texas Longhorns. Xavier’s been playing solid basketball season long and they are definitely battle tested with the way they have performed throughout this tournament. I think they will pull off the upset in this one and advance to the elite eight. As this looks like one of those weird years where a non-power five school is going to win the national championship and I think Xavier has the best chance of doing that.
