My first pick for this game is for the Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen. He is off to an incredible start this season and I look for that to continue in this game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park on Friday night. He will be looking to pick up his seventh victory of the season in the start and keep his National League Cy Young campaign looking strong as the calendar starts to turn towards the end of May. He comes into this game averaging around eight strikeouts per appearance and I expect him to go over his total strikeouts in this game.
My second pick for this game is for the Arizona Diamondbacks to pick up the victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first game of this three game weekend series. Both of these teams have kind of shocked the baseball world early on in the season as they have outperformed their expectations. Arizona is still exceeding those expectations, while it is fair to say that Pittsburgh might be coming back down to earth at the moment. I don’t expect it to get much better for them here in this one either as I think the Arizona Diamondbacks will pick up a comfortable victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates to open up the series on Friday night.

Seattle Mariners @ Atlanta Braves – 7:20PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller. He is having a solid start to the 2023 Major League Baseball season, as he comes into this start undefeated on the year with a record of 2-0. He comes into this start looking to lower his already solid Earned Run Average of 0.47 and help the Seattle Mariners grab a victory in the opening game of this series as well. He comes into this game averaging around six and one third innings pitched per appearance this season and I have him going over his total outs on Friday night.
My second pick for this game is for the Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Bryce Elder. He is having a solid start to the 2023 Major League Baseball season, as he comes into this start undefeated on the year with a record of 3-0. He comes into this start looking to lower his already solid Earned Run Average of 1.94 and help the Atlanta Braves grab a victory in the opening game of this series as well. He comes into this game averaging around six innings pitched per appearance this season and I have him going over his total outs on Friday night.

Colorado Rockies @ Texas Rangers – 8:05PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the Texas Rangers starting pitcher Martin Perez. He is off to a solid start to the season, and he will be looking to continue that start in this game against the Colorado Rockies on Friday night. He comes into this game with a record of 4-1 on the year and his Earned Run Average is currently sitting at 4.25 which is the bigger concern at the moment. He will be hoping he can produce a quality start to drop that number and he has a golden opportunity to do so, in this start against one of the worst offensive teams in the league. He comes into this game averaging around four strikeouts per appearance and I expect him to go over his total strikeouts in this game.
My second pick for this game is for the Texas Rangers to pick up the victory over the Colorado Rockies in game number one of this three game weekend series on Friday night. These two teams could not be further apart as Texas has been one of the best teams in baseball this season and Colorado quickly established themselves as one of the worst teams in baseball this season. With the pitching matchup in this one, the Texas Rangers hold a clear advantage, as Martin Perez has looked like one of the better pitchers in baseball so far this year as well. I expect the Rangers to get themselves a comfortable victory here on Friday night to open up this series at home.

Los Angeles Dodgers @ St.Louis Cardinals – 8:15PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tony Gonsolin. He is off to a solid start this season and he will be looking to improve upon his 1-1 record and lower his 1.42 Earned Run Average with another quality start in this game against the Cardinals. Last season he was one of the most dominant pitchers in all of Major League Baseball and if he continues to play the way has through the first stretch of the season, he could become dominant once again this season. He comes into this game averaging around four strikeouts per appearance this season and I look for him to go over that number in this game on Friday evening.
My second pick for this game is for the Los Angeles Dodgers to pick up the victory over the St.Louis Cardinals in the second game of this four game weekend series on Friday night. It was a high scoring affair in game number one of their series on Thursday night and unfortunately the Los Angeles Dodgers came up short. As the St.Louis Cardinals scored 16 runs compared to Los Angeles only managing to score 8 runs last night. I expect this one to be a lot lower scoring with the quality of pitching that is on the mound especially for the Dodgers. They hold the advantage of the pitching matchup in this one and that is why I think they will grab the victory over St. Louis to even up this series on Friday night.

Minnesota Twins @ Los Angeles Angels – 9:38PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan. he is off to an incredible start this season as he comes into this game with a record of 6-1 on the year. His Earned Run Average is slightly above two as it currently sits at 2.16 heading into the last part of May. He will be looking to pick up his seventh victory of the season here in this game, but it won’t be easy on the road against a tough Los Angeles Angels team. He comes into this game averaging around seven strikeouts per appearance this season and I look for him to go over that number in this game on Friday evening.
My second pick for this game is for the Minnesota Twins to pick up the victory in the opening game of this three game weekend series against the Los Angeles Angels. Both of these teams are having solid seasons and this game could go either way. However, with Joe Ryan on the mound it arguably favors the Minnesota Twins to open up the series with a victory. The outcome of this game will mostly rely on his ability to get Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani out or limit their damage at the plate. I expect him to do just that and I expect the Minnesota twins to open up this weekend series with a much-needed victory on the road in Los Angeles.
