My second pick for this game is for the Oakland Athletics to pick up the victory over the Los Angeles Angels in the middle game of their weekend series. Normally I’d be going with the Los Angeles Angels but they are sending a guy to the mound who will be making only his third career start. I don’t think the Athletics will have any problems putting away the Los Angeles Angels behind a strong performance from Blackburn.

Baltimore Orioles @ Detroit Tigers – 4:10PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the Detroit Tigers starting pitcher, Michael Pineda. He comes into this start with a record of 1-2 as this will be his fifth appearance of the season. He currently has a 3.43 Earned Run Average, as he has logged 21 innings pitched and racked up only 12 strikeouts. He is more of a pitch to contact type of pitcher and I think that will help him in this one as I have him going over his total outs record against the Baltimore Orioles.

My second pick for this game is for the Detroit Tigers to pick up the victory over the Baltimore Orioles in the middle game of their weekend series. In game one of this series it was all Tigers on Friday night. They were led by a strong performance from their starting pitcher and I expect more of the same from Pineda in this one as I can see him easily getting through six or seven innings.

Milwaukee Brewers @ Miami Marlins – 6:10PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher, Eric Lauer. He comes into this start with a record of 3-0 as this will be his sixth appearance of the season. He currently has a 1.82 Earned Run Average, as he has logged 29 and two thirds innings pitched and racked up 42 strikeouts. He is a swing and miss pitcher and that will benefit him in this one against a weak Miami Marlins lineup. As I have him going over his total strikeouts in this one.

My second pick for this game is for the Milwaukee Brewers to pick up the victory over the Miami Marlins in the middle game of their weekend series. In game number one it was the Brewers who scored a run late in the ninth to grab the 2-1 win over Miami. I expect more of the same in this one as I look for Lauer to shut down the Miami Marlins offense in this one on Saturday.

Cleveland Guardians @ Minnesota Twins – 7:10PM ET
My first pick for this game is for the Cleveland Guardians starting pitcher, Shane Bieber. He comes into this start with a record of 1-2 as this will be his seventh appearance of the season. He currently has a 4.13 Earned Run Average, as he has logged 32 and two thirds innings pitched and racked up 29 strikeouts. Despite a bad start in his last appearance, as a former Cy Young award winner I look for Bieber to turn it around in this one as I have him going over his total strikeouts in this middle game against the Minnesota Twins.

My second pick for this game is for the Cleveland Guardians to pick up the victory over the Minnesota Twins in the middle game of their weekend series. Despite the rough loss in game one of this series the Guardians will look to bounce back in a huge way in the second game. As long as Bieber is on the mound it’s fair to say they have a legit chance as well.

My first pick for this game is for the Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher, Zac Gallen. He comes into this start with a record of 2-0 as this will be his sixth appearance of the season. My second pick for this game is for the Arizona Diamondbacks to pick up the victory over the Chicago Cubs in the middle game of their weekend series. In game one it was the Arizona Diamondbacks who got the close 4-3 win after both teams scored all their runs before the fifth inning. As the Diamondbacks bullpen posted zeros from the top of the fifth all the way to the end of the game in the top of the ninth. I think combined with a strong performance from Gallen plus another shutdown bullpen outing will be enough to get Arizona the win.
