My first pick for this game is for the Denver Nuggets Nikola Jokić. The former two time Most Valuable Player award winner likely should’ve won his third consecutive award this season. However, it ended up going to Joel Embiid, and it seems as if Nikola Jokić has use that fuel to propel himself and the Denver Nuggets into the NBA finals with the way he has been performing throughout the playoffs. I expect him to have another incredible performance in the opening game of the NBA finals series against the Miami Heat on Thursday night. As I expected Nikola Jokić to record a triple double in this game against Miami.

My second pick for this game is for the Denver Nuggets to pick up the victory and cover the spread against the Miami Heat in the opening game of the 2023 NBA finals. Denver is coming off of a long and lengthy rest and have the advantage of playing in the altitude tonight against a Miami Heat team that just finished up their last series three days ago. I expect Denver to take full advantage of an exhausted and shorthanded Miami team, and pick up a comfortable victory to open up this final series here on Thursday evening at home. As I expect this one to be close throughout, but I look for the Denver Nuggets to pull away in the end and cover the spread.
